What is EOS?

To become a node in the EOS network, a node operator has to be voted into power by the EOS token holders.

Users of the EOS blockchain can use the EOS coin in many ways. Unlike with the Ethereum blockchain, EOS is not needed to pay for transactions on the chain. Instead the token functions as a government token for the whole network. While at the same time Dapps need to hold the token to access bandwidth on the chain. Users on EOS can thus also lend out their EOS tokens to those who require it to run applications on EOS.
